My newest project

I bought these paper mache letters a long time ago. I wanted to make them look as if they came off an old restaurant. I could not find my rusting paint so I went with a different approach. I first appplied a stucco type paste to give it a rough texture, then painted them with a Golden Napthol Red Medium. Then finally I put a glaze of burnt umber over that and rubber it off. I am pretty happy with the results now just need to find a spot for them in the kitchen.
