Steampunk Dominoes




I have been busy making lots of dominoes. They are so much fun to make, I found these bird collage sheets in my stash and then found a bunch of watch parts I have been saving for something. I tried combining the two and came up with these dominoes. The gears and swarovski crystals give the birds some "bling".

These are great! They have so much shine. May I ask what you used to seal them that provided so much shine & depth?

Ok, a question, but first a comment: WOW! i love these! They are different from any other domino pendants I have seen out there. Great job!

Now, for the question...what did you use for the glaze on these?

Thanks for the comments ladies. I used 2 part epoxy resin. I love this stuff, it has so many different applications.

you are such a good artist. by the way do u have atutorial using polymer clay and resin to make a ring that want break and is wearable

Thank you for the comment. To answer your question about using polymer clay and resin, I do not have a tutorial. I have used both seperately never together. I don't think it would be a problem. You would just have to make sure your polymer clay is properly cured first. There are many people who make bracelets and rings from polymer clay alone. I think adding in resin on top would make it even stronger. Good luck!

Are the sides of the dominoes sealed in some way?

Yes you can brush on some Diamond Glaze, or Mod Podge to seal the paper on the sides. Wait until the resin is completely cured though, you don't want any fingerprints in the resin.
