I love Savannah GA

I got to spend a little time in Savannah last weekend with my hubby. We had such beautiful weather, it was just wonderful. Here are some pictures I took along the way.
As you may or may not know Savannah is a city with many park squares, each has a monument or beautiful fountain in the center. Each one tells the story or a hero or important person in the history of the state of Georgia. It was really interesting to read each of the historic plaques, but so much to take in my brain.
There is also a beautiful cathederal St. John the Baptist (I think) Here are some of the shots I took there.
And finally some of the beautiful fountains, I could of sat here all day, but I didn't do that. I ended up finding some awesome pieces in a small antique mall. MY husband was so sweet to carry around my old rustic toolbox I bought.

Sassy & Stash booth updates

Hi all, I have been very busy getting lots of new furniture and accessories into my booths. Here are some new pix.
The blue table on the lowest level has a chalkboard paint center. We think it is the ultimate kid friendly table.
Here are my chalkboard labels. These have been a big hit. I have added a lot of new shapes and bigger packages. They are great for organizing or putting on mirrors for reminders. Follow Me on Pinterest

Distressing with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

I just finished this little two drawer chest for my booth. I think it turned out really cute with just the right amount of distress to add some instant age and interest. When I distress something I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint I usually dont get out the sander. I don't like the mess and it can be too severe looking for my taste. I get out a bucket of water and a rag. I soak the rag, wring it out and start rubbing it along the edges and anywhere I want the wood to peek through the paint. I also don't have to worry about the finish of the original wood getting marred this way either. The final step I take after I coat the piece with clear wax is to take the buffer to it. I originally gave this buffer to my husband for the cars. He never used it once. I thought it would sure give my furniture a nice mellow glow and it does. I How do you distress your furniture pieces? I would love to know.

No lemon in my tea please!

Ok this is kinda gross, but I think I should share this with you. I just watched a segment today on Good Morning America about restaurant secrets. One of the things they said is the lemons in a restaurant are handled by a lot of people, but rarely washed before they are sliced and then placed in your water or tea. All of those nasty germs are now in your tea! Yuck! I will be saving my lemon for at home only thank you. I am sure this may be fine at some restaurants, but now that the idea is in my head I can't go back. Ok that is it for my public service announcement for the day.

Dream Garden

I saw this beautiful picture on Pinterest this morning and it drew me into it. Wouldn't this make a wonderful place to sneak away and read a good book or sip your morning coffee. I am going to try to bring some of these ideas into my garden.
